What is Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan Medicine)

 Sowa Rigpa is a Tibetan traditional healing system that developed in Shang Shung and Tibet over 2,500 years ago. It combines herbal medicine, diet, lifestyle guidance, spiritual practices, and physical therapies to treat illness and
maintain balance in the body.

It is widely practiced in regions such as Nepal, India, and Bhutan, especially in Himalayan communities.

Menpa Sherap Nyima

Menpa Nyima (Geshe Sherab Nyima) was born in the Amdo region of northeastern Tibet into a farming family. In 1999, he came to Nepal and joined Triten Norbutse Monastery in Kathmandu, where he studied Tibetan philosophy and psychology under his root master, H.E. Yongdzin Lopon Tenzin Namdak Rinpoche, and other masters for 16 years. In 2015, he obtained his Geshe degree (PhD) from the monastery. In 2016, he began studying  Sowa Rigpa (Tibetan medicine) at the School of the Four Medical Sciences of the Early Tradition, where he studied for four years. After two years, he started teaching young students about Sowa Rigpa and philosophy. He also learned acupuncture and palmistry from Dr. Tokmy and Dr. Pasang in India.
